A Bible Study Program

London is blessed with a wide variety of churches and Christian traditions advancing God’s Kingdom in our community. This fall, the Springbank Family of Parishes (St. John the Divine and St. George Catholic Church) is excited to offer a new scripture study designed to draw on and strengthen the unity within the diversity of the body of Christ in our city.

“Our Shared Story” is a 12-week ecumenical study of the book of Hebrews beginning on October 5 at St. John the Divine Parish. The initiative was birthed in the hearts of Father Michael Bechard, Pastor of the Springbank Family of Parishes, and Peter and Kerry Wilson, an Evangelical/Catholic couple who desire to see Protestants and Catholics enter into dialogue together and join forces in bringing Christ’s love to their neighbours.

“Despite the fractions and divisions in Christ’s Body, we are grateful that we have the opportunity to come together and celebrate our common heritage in Sacred Scripture,” Father Bechard explains. “As we gather in study and prayer, we are fully confident that God’s Word, Jesus, will find a place in our hearts and provide us with new zeal and courage in bringing about God’s Kingdom. We hope that Christians in our area will join us on this journey of discovery.”

Peter and Kerry are excited about leading the study. They see it as a great opportunity to tear down walls that have been built with bricks of misunderstanding. The potential for new friendships and a deeper love for God’s family are just two of the many blessings they pray will come out of this program for participants. If you have a heart and passion for Christian unity, register today. All are welcome!
