How Christians Can Fight Depression

Hockey Ministries International (HMI) is an organization that exists to build relationships and serve the hockey community. Their vision is to "Reach the world of Hockey, every player, every team, everywhere, with the message of hope found in Jesus Christ."

Founded by Don Liesemer in the spring of 1977, HMI cares for the spiritual needs of players, coaches and their families. They provide this care through Player Mentoring, Team Chapel Programs and the production of customized Biblical Resources.

"Chapels are a great spiritual input in my life especially since I miss church so much. As a Christian it is great to be refreshed by the word of God as well as have a place where my searching teammates can connect and know that someone outside the team cares about them."

James Reimer, Toronto Maple Leafs

In 2013, HMI ran youth hockey camps for nearly 2000 amateur players. All of these opportunities are made possible through generous financial support, and thanks to the endorsement of more than 39 junior and professional leagues internationally, including the NHL.

On Saturday May 10th, HMI will be hosting their Championship Breakfast event at the London Hellenic Centre. This year's event will feature former NHL players, Mike Gartner, Laurie Boschman and others to be announced soon. Please join us as we celebrate alongside the historic Memorial Cup tournament and its return to London.

Prior to the breakfast event in May, HMI is hosting the Hotstove After Work - Hockey Stories Fundraiser. The Hotstove is on Friday February 21, and will feature stories from current junior players, as well as former NHLer, Mark Osborne. All funds raised at the Hotstove, will go directly to underwriting the HMI Championship Breakfast in May.
