As they work together, Alex discovers in Kaely the role model she's never had, despite being warned away.

As Alex questions who she wants to become, things get personal when the brilliant killer strikes close to home. Now Alex will do anything to find the killer--even at the risk of her own life.

Paula Shreckhise gave Dead Fall (The Quantico Files #2) 5 out of 5 stars
In the thrilling book 2 of The Quantico Files, we not only have another story about Alex Donovan but we meet up with the famous Kaely Quinn from a previous series. This was a fresh and intricately layered story of a diabolical UNSUB that the FBI team is trying to profile in hopes of aiding local law enforcement.

“He’s the puppet master who expects his puppets to act out his plan perfectly.” Ms. Mehl manages to wow us with her seriously bad guys and gets her protagonists into impossible situations but the way they get out of their predicaments and solve their problems is always interesting and highly entertaining.

I especially like the characters of Alex and Logan and how they grew in their spiritual journey, learning to rely on God through the really tough times. I always enjoy anything to do with Quantico, FBI and other agencies. This book series deals with the Behavioral Analysis Unit and profiling. I am looking forward to the third book in this absorbing, dramatic series.

Really this is as 3.5 star read. I really like Nancy Mehl books but with her book I find them a little long in the middle and I tend to drift off. This book the same, but I have to say that the ending of her books are amazing, this one included. Another problem is I always figure out who done it, but alas I did not figure it out on this book. That makes it even better. Who is killing agents? With help from the famous Kaely Quinn the detectives are on the search on who is killing there own. Can they find out who is responsible before more killing occur? Again it does drag on but so worth read and I can't wait to book 3 in this series. Highly recommend for you especially if you love a great who done it!!

Okay, I had some mixed feelings about this one to begin with, but it came through with the goods in the end!

I thought the beginning lacked Nancy’s usually stellar storytelling style, but after about the first 10 chapters her usual style kicked in - in overdrive!

This was non-stop action once it got going! Not a single pause until the last page! And freaked me out just a touch more than once! But just a touch! I loved revisiting Alex and Logan as characters, and I’m loving that their story is a super slow burn! Add in the return of Kaely Quinn and a plot twist worthy of an Agatha Christie novel (but really, yes, it was total Agatha-style & every bit as unpredictable as one of hers) and you have a pretty solid combination! Just the right balance of creepy, action, unpredictability and character growth.

Definitely recommend for fans of romantic suspense - especially those who don’t mind it a little light on the romance and a touch extra creepy!

Nancy Mehl’s Dead Fall is over-the-top intense! First of all, Kaely Quinn is back! If you haven’t read the Kaely Quinn Profiler series, it’s one of my favorites. But Dead End follows the FBI Behavioral Analyst Unit team. A killer is on the loose, targeting members of the BAU, and Alex Donovan and Logan Hart team up with Kaely to create a profile of the serial killer. But they can’t seem to get a read on their UNSUB, who continues to go after the team.

I loved this story! So many twists and turns. I couldn’t figure out who the killer was. Nancy weaves an incredible spiritual message as she dishes out the suspense. Readers get to know more of Alex’s story and of course there’s the budding romance between her and Logan. I highly recommend this novel to suspense fans, but caution that it is intense in some scenes.

Dead Fall by Nancy Mehl is a twist of Criminal Minds with a taste of romance. I enjoy a good suspense novel that dives deep into the killer's perspective or mind. CSI is one of my favorite series about solving the mysteries because I loved watching the science and the evidence lead toward a captured killer or bad guy. With Dead Fall, Mehl is pretty much doing the same thing with a novel format. Alex, the heroine, was in the first novel, so she is a returning character. The hunt for the clues to solve the mystery lead the story along. The characters acting and reacting to the different elements that kept the story moving along. The mindset of the Behavior Analyists kept me glued to the story. There was a touch of romance, but too much. Maybe something for later. Overall, Dead Fall by Nancy Mehl is definitely a book that I want to add to my bookshelf. If readers enjoy CSI, Criminal Minds, or these type of stories, then I would suggest picking up this novel.

This new book emphasizes Nancy Mehl's amazing ability to get into the minds of those who are intent on evil, and I was fascinated with the villain that she's created for Dead Fall. This madman is targeting the members of the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit, and it becomes apparent that the murders are being done from afar. Alex Donovan and Logan Hart are back, from the first book of this series, and they're both caught in a frantic race to discover the killer, before they lose more of their team members. Kaely Quinn is also involved, and I'm once again impressed with just how special she really is. I became her fan after reading the Kaely Quinn, Profiler series, and Kaely's own tortured past offers her special insight into Alex's personal issues. She is there to help and encourage Alex, and I loved seeing the friendship that evolves between two women who have each overcome so many obstacles.

Mehl has created an intense thriller filled with danger, adventure, and surprising twists, and she once again weaves a compelling faith message into her story. Dead Fall is an intriguing psychological drama and I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian suspense novels.

After putting to rest the most personal case of her career, Alex Donovan is ready to move on and focus on her future at the FBI's elite Behavioral Analysis Unit. When the BAU cofounder is discovered dead in his hotel room, the FBI is called in to work on the strangest case they've ever faced. How do you find a killer who murders his victims from a distance?

When it becomes clear that the killer is targeting agents in Alex's unit, they are ordered into lockdown, sheltered in the dorms at Quantico. Alex bunks with controversial agent Kaely Quinn, and as they work together, Alex discovers in Kaely the role model she's never had--despite being warned away.

As Alex questions the type of agent she wants to become, things get personal when the brilliant killer strikes close to home. Now Alex will do anything to find the killer--even at the risk of her own life.

My review: What an interesting book. How do you find a killer when it appears to be a suicide? But you know the person would never commit suicide. Alex is task with doing just that. Every where she and her team goes, it seems the killer knows what they are doing before they do.

This is the second book in the series The Quantico Files. It's not necessary to read the first book in the series before reading this one. I recommend it as you learn more about Alex's background.

I recommend this book to all who like a good mystery.

Jeffrey Reynolds gave Dead Fall (The Quantico Files #2) 5 out of 5 stars
If you want thrillers, you want to read this book. It has plot twist after plot twist, a villain that will keep you guessing, and great characters.

Dead Fall is the second novel in the Quantico Files, and includes Kaley Quinn, the heroine of Mehl's previous trilogy. You can enjoy this novel without reading the first novel - Night Fall - or the Kaley Quinn Profiler series, but I would recommend reading those four books first. That might sound like a delay for this novel, but it's worth the wait.

I know some series, such as Mehl's Kaley Quinn Profiler, have the same lead character throughout the series, while others have some recurring characters but have different leads in each installment, with Mehl's Defenders Of Justice being in the category. With the name "The Quantico Files", I wasn't sure which category this would fall into. The answer is the former - the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) features the same trio and the lead character in both is Alex Donovan.

I am a Nancy Mehl fan, and this is the 16th novel I've read. This is the best.

This was an absolute joy to read! I was blown away by the faith aspects in this book. Such a perfect suspense with a foundation built on faith. I adored it so much. I highlighted so many awesome quotes. I adored the action from the case as well. Kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting to read more.

Kaely being in this book was the icing on the cake, including the reveal with Noah -- I swooned. I enjoyed Alex ten times more in this book. Her maturity and growth was impeccable. The dynamic between Alex and Kaely was phenomenal. I did find Logan annoying at times, but he pulled through, especially when Noah came through. Monty is my little sugar bear. I just wanted to hug him tight.

The case was such an interesting one. So many suspects and ideas of who it could be but never really figuring it out. I was 100% shocked at who the main unsub and their accomplices were. Nancy knows how to write a good story, keep the faith strong and reel you in with an explosive reveal and ending.

I am too excited to read Free Fall when it releases. Already pre-ordered! I plan to check out more from Nancy soon!!

Highly recommend this trilogy and the Kaely Quinn Profilers trilogy for fans of Criminal Minds!

The second book in Nancy Mehl’s “Quantico Files” lives up to the name “thriller”. Someone has targeted past and present members of the FBI’s Behavioral Analyst Unit. When the legendary agent who wrote the book on behavioral analysis is found dead in his room with the door locked from the inside, the team is brought in to develop a profile of a killer. Special Agents Logan Hart and Alex Donovan are teaming up with Kaely Quinn, a renowned former FBI Behavioral Analyst. The problem – the killer appears to be one step ahead of the team, and soon Kaely and Alex think that there must be someone inside the FBI giving the killer information. Even while the team is sequestered at Quantico, Alex and Kaely’s lives are threatened, and Alex needs to face her growing attraction to Logan.

This second book in The Quantico Files is one of the best I have read this year. Nancy Mehl writes such realistic stories that you feel like you are right there and a part of the action. I found myself wanting to warn Alex when something was about to happen. The suspense is so intense and the danger so prevalent in the lives of the FBI’s BAU team that in some situations only God could have saved their lives. It was great to have Kaely Quinn a part of this book also and to find out what her decision was for her future. I can’t praise this book enough.
